1 Are There Rules?
The Legacy Community operates under basic laws of human decency. Be nice, be kind, and be generous. This is not the place for politics or religious debate. Personal information shared here about family members and friends must be concealed to avoid harm or loss. 2 I’m Not A Real Writer?
There is a common misperception that you need to be “A Writer” in order to write. At The Legacy Community, we believe that if you lived through it to tell the tale, you can WRITE the tale. We will show you how. You will get all the tools you need upon signup when you watch our Legacy Course, Fundamentals of Memoir Writing. Rest assured, our members range from complete newbies to seasoned writers, and everyone feels welcome and at-home. We will support you wherever you are in your writing skills and in your journey.
3 Where Do I Even Start?
We get it. The prospect of writing up your entire history, geography, psychology, physiology and sociology can feel ENORMOUS! That’s why we break down the process into bite-sized pieces and hold your hand as you walk the path, one step at a time. You’ll get immediate reassurance and confidence when you watch our foundational video, Fundamentals of Memoir Writing, which you’ll receive immediately upon signup. Our tried-and-true process has helped hundreds of women achieve the seemingly “impossible”. You do NOT need to hire an expensive ghostwriter. And you do NOT need to let your story remain unwritten. The Legacy Community will help you dive in and really write your story.
4 Do I Need To Be Jewish To Join?
The Legacy Community was established to serve the global Jewish community tp unite like-minded women in writing their life stories by sharing a common culture, history, and similar life experiences. Of course, anyone can join, but be prepared to encounter plenty of chicken soup and matzah balls!
5 Is This A Course Or A Program?
This is a community of women working together on writing their life stories. There is ongoing support for the community by the community. Additionally, there are helpful workshops from experts, from historians to writing coaches to therapists to give you the tool you need to succeed. Upon signup, you receive our Getting Started course which will launch you on the journey, including live writing meetups where members gather over Zoom to devote themselves to their writing.
We also offer special courses and one-on-one coaching that can be purchased a la carte.
